About AIBE (All India Bar Examination)

AIBE stands for All India Bar Examination and it is a national-level entrance examination conducted by BCI or Bar Council of India every year to examine advocates’ ability to practice the Law profession in India. AIBE- XVII is apt for fetching the ‘Certificate of Practice’ essential for the legal profession.

The students who qualify the entrance test with passing marks are awarded the practice certificate by BCI or Bar Council of India. The test will be conducted in different cities of India in offline mode. To participate in the AIBE- XVII students, need to fill out the application form online.

Eligibility Criteria:

To appear in the AIBE- XVII (All India Bar Examination), students need to follow the given eligibility conditions.

Students must hold a LL.B./B.L. 3/5 Year degree from a recognised University are eligible to apply.

Students awaiting their final year results are also eligible to apply.

There is no minimum age required to apply for the AIBE- XVII (All India Bar Examination).

To apply for the exam, students must be an Indian citizen.

Students must have enrolled their names with the respective State Bar Council as an advocate.

Application Form Fill-out Process:

Applicants are required to apply through the E-application process (online) only. Last date for registration for this academic year is over. Candidates can apply next year by following the process given below.

  1. Visit the official website - All India Bar Examination.
  2. After that click on the AIBE- XVII -2023 admission portal and " New Registration" link.
  3. Read the instructions carefully before filling out the online application form.
  4. Fill-up all the necessary details in the application form carefully.
  5. Upload your signature, scanned photograph, thumb impression and all the necessary documents in the application form.
  6. Pay the application fee via online mode.
  7. Submit the application form before the last date of registration.

Application Fees: -

Students who wish to apply for the AIBE- XVII -2023 (All India Bar Examination), may pay the applicable fee via both online and offline modes, through the online gateway of debit or credit card which is a non-refundable amount whereas students can make payment of the application fee via offline mode through the SBI Challan method.

For General/ OBC students, the fee will be Rs. 3560.

For ST/SC students, the fee will be Rs. 2560.

Syllabus:

Given below is the AIBE- XVII 2023(All India Bar Examination) syllabus discussed for the examination.

Topics such as Constitutional Law comprises of 10 questions, Cr. P.C (Criminal Procedure Code) with 10 questions, I.P.C (Indian Penal Code) with 8 questions, C.P.C (Code of Civil procedure) with 10 questions

Public Interest Litigation with 4 questions, Alternative Dispute Redressal including Arbitration Act has 4 questions, Evidence Act has 8 questions, Family Law with 8 questions.

Professional Ethics & Cases of Professional Misconduct under BCI rules with 4 questions, Administrative Law with 3 questions, Company Law with 2 questions, Cyberlaw for 2 questions, Environmental Law with 2 questions.

Labor + Industrial Law for 4 questions, Law Related to Taxation with 4 questions, Law of Tort, including Consumer Protection Law and Motor Vehicle Accidents for 5 questions.

Specific Relief, Law of Contract, Prop Laws, Spl Contract N.I Ac for 8 questions, last Intellectual Property Laws for 2 questions and Land Acquisition Act for 2 questions.

Exam Dates:

The AIBE- XVII (All India Bar Examination) is an entrance exam conducted by BCI or Bar Council of India for admission to Certificate of Practice that has been conducted in various cities across the country.

Students wishing to appear for the exam must meet the eligibility conditions of the exam. For the law courses, the AIBE- XVII (All India Bar Examination) has been conducted on 5th February 2023 and results has been declared on April 28th, 2023.

Exam Admit Card:

The AIBE- XVII (All India Bar Examination) Admit Card was available on the official website on 1st February 2023. Students can access their hall ticket by logging in with their login id and password.

Steps to Get Admit card:

  1. Go to the official website - All India Bar Examination.
  2. Then after click on the " AIBE- XVII -2023 Admit Card" link.
  3. Enter your login id and password.
  4. Click on the "Submit" button.
  5. Admit card/Hall ticket will be shown on the screen.
  6. Download and print your Admit card/Hall ticket for future reference.

Students are suggested to carry their admit card to the exam centre on exam date. Without the admit-card, students are not permitted for the exam.
