About JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research)

Jawaharlal Institute Postgraduate Medical Education & Research conducts JIPMER MBBS entrance exam every year but now it is replaced by National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) which is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

It is a national level examination to provide admission into MBBS courses. National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is pen paper-based (offline). It has been already conducted on 7th May 2023 in different parts of the country.

JIPMER is situated at Pondicherry and it is under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, direct administrative control of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India. It is both an educational institute which provides undergraduate as well as postgraduate medical training courses and a working hospital too.

Eligibility Criteria:

The JIPMER entrance exam 2023 eligibility conditions for admission into MBBS courses through NEET entrance exam 2023 is discussed below:

Educational Qualification: Students must have completed class 10+2 from a recognized board with English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology as mandatory subjects. Students must have qualified in these subjects individually and secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (40% marks for ST/SC/ OBC category students and 45% marks for General-PH category students) in aggregate.

Age Limit: The minimum age of candidate should be 17 years as on December 31, 2023.

Number of Attempts: There is no such particular number of attempts for NEET.

Application Form Fill-out Process:

Applicants are required to apply through the E-application process (online) only. Last date for registration for this academic year is over. Candidates can apply next year by following the process given below.

  1. Visit the official website of NTA.
  2. After that click on the " NEET UG 2023" link.
  3. Read the instructions carefully before filling out the online application form.
  4. Fill-up all the necessary details in the application form carefully.
  5. Upload your signature, scanned photograph, thumb impression and all the necessary documents in the application form.
  6. Pay the application fee via online mode.
  7. Submit the application form before the last date of registration.

Electrostatics - Electric field, Electric charges, Electric flux, potential difference, Electric potential, Conductors, free charges, Insulators, equipotential surfaces, bound charges, Continuous charge distribution, Superposition principle, Dipole and a system of charges.

Current Electricity - Electric current, mobility, velocity, Ohms law, conductivity, electrical resistivity, temperature dependence, carbon resistors, , Potentiometer - concepts and applications, Kircchoff's laws and simple applications.

Magnetic effects of Current and Magnetism - Biot-Savart Law, Magnetic field, Ampere's Law, Current loop as a magnetic dipole, Cyclotron, Electromagnetic and factors affecting them.

Electromagnetic induction and alternation of currents- Lenz Law, Faraday's law, Self and mutual inductance, power in AC circuits, LCR Series circuit, AC Generator and transformer

Electromagnetic waves - electromagnetic waves and characteristics, Displacement current, electromagnetic spectrum.

Solid state: Classification of solids such as ionic, molecular, covalent and metallic solids, crystalline and amorphous solids.

Solutions: the solubility of the gas in solid and liquids solutions, Types of solutions, colligative properties.

Electrochemistry: Electrolytic solutions, Redox reaction, electrolysis and laws of electrolysis, Standard Kohlrausch's Law, electrode potential.

Chemical Kinetics: factors affecting the rate of a temperature, reaction, and molecularity of a reaction, rate of a reaction.

Surface Chemistry: Chemisorption, Adsorption, enzyme catalysis, Catalysis of homogenous and heterogeneous, colloid properties, types of emulsions, electrophoresis.

Biology Syllabus:

Reproduction in organisms which is sexual and asexual.

Genetics and evolution: Klinefelter syndrome, Heredity, variation, the molecular basis of Replication, inheritance, DNA, Human evolution, Adaptive radiation.

Biology and Human welfare, Biotechnology and its applications.

Ecology: Organisms and environment.

Exam Dates:

The NEET UG 2023 is an entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS courses on the behalf of Jawaharlal Institute Postgraduate Medical Education & Research. The exam is a pen paper-based test (offline) that has been conducted in various cities across India.

Students wishing to appear for the exam must meet the eligibility conditions of the exam. For the MBBS courses, the NEET UG 2023 exam has been conducted on May 7, 2023 and results had declared on 13 June 2023.

Application Fees:

Students can submit the application fee through online mode and the fees is non-transferrable/ non-refundable.

Exam Admit Card:

The NEET UG Exam 2023 Admit Card was available on the National Testing Agency (NTA) official website on 3rd May 2023. Students can access their hall ticket by logging in with their login id and password.

Steps to Get Admit card:

  1. Go to the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) 
  2. Then after click on the " NEET UG 2023 Admit Card" link.
  3. Enter your login id and password.
  4. Click on the "Submit" button.
  5. Admit card/Hall ticket will be shown on the screen.
  6. Download and print your Admit card/Hall ticket for future reference.

Students are suggested to carry their admit card to the exam centre on exam date. Without the admit-card, students are not permitted for the exam.

Exam Centres:

NEET UG 2023 exam centres are in 485 different cities across the country and 15 cities outside India and it is a pen-paper test (offline) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

The list of exam centres that students can opt includes Jorhat (Assam), Guwahati (Assam), Silchar (Assam), Kohima/Dimapur (Nagaland), Aizawl (Mizoram), Shillong (Meghalaya), Bengaluru (Karnataka), Kolkata (West Bengal), Delhi, Imphal (Manipur). Exam Pattern:

The syllabus of NEET UG 2023 will be comprised of subjects and topics studied in class XI & XII. The syllabus will include the various topics from chemistry, physics and Biology as per prescribed by the CBSE & other State Board.

The NEET UG Exam Result 2023 has been declared on the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) on 13 June 2023.  Aspirants can check their results by using their login id and password.
