About RMCAAT (Rajasthan Master of Computer Application Admission Test)

RMCAAT stands for Rajasthan Master of Computer Application Admission Test which is conducted by Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) every year to impart admissions into first year admission to regular post Graduate degree course in MCA (Master of Computer Applications) for the academic year 2023-24 offered by the government aided, and self-financed institutions.

But for the academic year 2023-24 Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) will not conduct RMCAAT (Rajasthan Master of Computer Application Admission Test) any more. RMCAAT is replaced by NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test). NIT MCA Common Entrance Test conducted by National Institutes of Technology (NITs) at National Level in Online Mode (Computer-Based Test).

Eligibility Criteria:

To appear in the NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test), students need to follow the given eligibility conditions.

Students must have completed Graduation and hold a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematics as one of the subjects or B.E./ B. Tech with minimum 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST students) from a recognized University are eligible to apply.

CGPA other than 10-point scale can be converted to 10-point scale on unitary method basis.

Students who are awaiting their final year results can also apply but at time of admission they have to submit the proof of qualifying exam (Graduation).

Students who are holding Bachelor Degree as (B.Sc. (Hons)/B.Sc./ BCA/ BIT) of three years duration from Open Universities approved by AICTE /UGC and (DEC) Distance Education Council of Govt. of India are also eligible.

There is no minimum age required to apply for the NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test).

Application Form Fill-out Process:

Applicants are required to apply through the E-application process (online) only. Last date of registration for this academic year is over. Candidates can apply next year by following the process given below.

  1. Visit the official website of NIMCET.
  2. After that click on the " NIMCET -2023 “and “New User Registration” link.
  3. Read the instructions carefully before filling out the online application form.
  4. Fill-up all the necessary details in the application form carefully.
  5. Upload your signature, scanned photograph, thumb impression and all the necessary documents in the application form.
  6. Pay the application fee via online mode.
  7. Submit the application form before the last date of registration.

Application Fees:

Students can submit the application fee through online mode and the fees is non-transferrable/ non-refundable. The mode of payment includes debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI.

SC, ST and PWD category students Rs. 1250/-

RMCAAT Syllabus

Syllabus: -

Before appearing in NIMCET popularly known as NIT MCA Common Entrance Test conducted by National Institutes of Technology (NITs) at National Level, students must check the syllabus given below:

Mathematics (50 questions –600 marks)

• Algebra: Fundamental operations in Algebra, quadratic equations, indices, expansion, factorization, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem, surds.

• Set Theory: Sets and subsets, properties of relations, integers and functions, operations on sets, sequences.

• Matrix Algebra: Inverse of a matrix, rank, Elementary transformations, solution of simultaneous linear equations, quadratic forms, eigenvalues and eigenvectors.

• Co-ordinate Geometry: Equations of a line, Rectangular Cartesian co-ordinates, mid-point, intersections etc., distance formulae, equations of a circle, pair of straight lines, ellipse and hyperbola, parabola, simple geometric transformations such as rotation, translation, scaling.

• Calculus: Limit of functions, differentiation of function(s), continuous functions, tangents and normal, integration of function by parts, simple examples of maxima and minima, by partial fraction and by substitution, definite integral application to surfaces and volumes of frustums of a sphere, cylinder, cone, Taylor Series.

• Vectors: addition and subtraction of vectors, Position vector, vector and scalar products and their applications to simple geometrical mechanics and problems.

• Trigonometry: trigonometric equations, Simple identities, properties of triangles, height and distance, solution of triangles, inverse function

• Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, averages, frequency distributions, and measures of dispersions, dependent and independent events, skewness and kurtosis, mathematical expectations, binomial, Poisson, random variable and distribution functions, normal distributions, curve fitting, and principle of correlation, least squares and regression.

General English (10 questions –40 marks)

Fill in the blanks, Conclusion, error correction, vocabulary, tenses, sentence correction, unseen passage, word formation, idioms and phrases, synonyms, articles, subject-verb agreement and theme detection etc.

Analytical ability & Logical Reasoning (40 questions –240 marks)

Linear agreement, blood relationships, Analytical reasoning, alphabet test, classification, verbal series, data sufficiency test, routes and networks, symbols and nations, Team Selection, Sequencing and Arrangement, Passage Conclusion, Fact Inference Judgment, Statement Argument, Analogy and among others.

Computer Awareness (20 questions –120 marks)

• Computer Basics: Central Processing Unit (CPU), Organization of a computer, back-up devices, Structure of instructions in CPU, computer memory, input / output devices, memory organization.

• Data Representation: Representation of characters, binary and hexadecimal representations, integers, and fractions, Binary Arithmetic: Addition, multiplication, subtraction, division, 1’s and 2’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of diagrams, numbers.

• Computer Architecture: communication between processor, Block structure of computers and I / O devices, interrupts

• Programming Languages: Python, C++, C, Java.

• Algorithms and Flow chart

• Operating Systems: types of operating systems, Evolution of operating systems, modern operating systems, functions of an operating system.

• Database Management systems: Entity-Relationship Diagram, Relational Database, Functional Dependencies, Decomposition.

• Computer Networks: LAN, WAN, MAN, Network Topology: Bus, Star bus, Star, Ring, Star ring, Mesh, Repeater, Modem, NIC, Transceiver, Hub, Bridge, Network adapters, Connectors, Switches, Routers and Gateways.

 

 

RMCAAT Exam Dates

Exam Dates:

The NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test) conducted by National Institutes of Technology (NITs) at National Level to provide admissions into Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course. The exam is Online as Computer-Based Test that has been conducted in various cities across India.

Students wishing to appear for the exam must meet the eligibility conditions of the exam. For the MCA course, the NIMCET -2023 has been conducted on 11/06/2023 and results had declared on 26/06/2023.

RMCAAT Admit Card

Exam Admit Card:

The NIMCET (NIT MCA Common Entrance Test) admit card was available on the NIMCET official website on 01/06/2023. Students can access their hall ticket by logging in with their login id and password.

Steps to Get Admit card:

  1. Go to the official website of NIMCET.
  2. Then after click on the " NIMCET -2023 Admit Card" link.
  3. Enter your login id and password.
  4. Click on the "Submit" button.
  5. Admit card/Hall ticket will be shown on the screen.
  6. Download and print your Admit card/Hall ticket for future reference.

Students are suggested to carry their admit card to the exam centre on exam date. Without the admit-card, students are not permitted for the exam.
