About Oasis Scholarship
Department of Tribal Development and the Backward Classes Welfare Department of West Bengal have launched a scholarship programme named Oasis scholarship for students from SC/ST and OBC categories of West Bengal domicile to pursue their education. Students can apply through the official portal of the scholarships and also West Bengal government has other scholarships program for minorities and other students.
Oasis Scholarship List
Students who belong to SC/ST and OBC categories can apply for pre and post matric Oasis scholarships. Here is the list of WB Oasis scholarship 2023 is:
- Pre-matric scholarship for SC students
- Pre-matric scholarship for ST students
- Oasis post-matric scholarship for SC/ST students
- Oasis post-matric scholarship for OBC students
Oasis Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Those who have the domicile of west Bengal are eligible for WB oasis scholarships; the aim is to provide better education to the aspiring students of West Bengal. Here is the given eligibility criteria for both Pre and Post Oasis scholarships are:
Pre-Matric Oasis Scholarship
- Students belong to SC or ST category.
- Students of Class 9th and 10th can apply for scholarship
- Family income is not more than INR 2,00,000
Post-Matric Oasis Scholarship
- Students belong to SC /ST or OBC category
- Students of Class 9th to post graduate level can apply for scholarship
- Family income of SC/ST category is not more than INR 2,50,000
- Family income of OBC category is not more than INR 1,00,000
Oasis Scholarship Rewards
The students of SC/ST and OBC categories of West Bengal domicile are get rewarded by Oasis government scholarship schemes. Selected students are may be day scholar or hosteller, who will receive the amount from Oasis:
Pre-Matric Oasis Scholarship
The SC and ST students who have applied to the pre-matric scholarship will receive the Oasis scholarship amount for ten months. The Oasis scholarship amount list for the SC and ST Pre-matric candidates is given below:
Day Scholars
- Students will receive INR 150 per month.
- They will receive INR 750 per annum as an Ad Hoc grant.
Hostellers
- The selected students will get INR 750 per month.
- The government will offer INR 1,000 per annum as an Ad Hoc grant.
Post-Matric Oasis Scholarship for SC/ST Students
The selected students from SC/ST category will receive scholarships according to the degree level. Here given below the scholarship amount for Post-Matric Oasis Scholarship for SC/ST Students
Day Scholars
- Students who are selected will receive INR 550 as a maintenance allowance every month.
- The SC/ST students pursuing medical, engineering, BSc in agriculture, MPhil, PhD and LLM courses will receive INR 550 per month.
- The students pursuing B.Pharma, LLB, B.Sc in nursing, Hotel management and Postgraduate courses will receive an Oasis scholarship of INR 530 per month.
- Students studying regular courses up to the graduate level will receive INR 300 per month.
- Class 11th, Class 12th, polytechnic and ITI students will receive INR 230 per month.
Hostellers
- Students who are selected will receive an Oasis scholarship amount of INR 1,200 as a maintenance allowance every month.
- SC/ST students pursuing medical, engineering, BSc in agriculture, MPhil, PhD and LLM courses will receive INR 1,200 per month.
- The students pursuing B.Pharma, LLB, BSc in nursing, hotel management and postgraduate courses will receive INR 820 per month.
- The Students studying regular courses up to the graduate level will receive INR 750 per month.
- Class 11th, Class 12th, polytechnic and ITI students will receive INR 750 per month.
Post-Matric Oasis OBC Scholarship
Students who are applying for the Oasis OBC scholarship will receive the following advantages:
Day Scholars
- Students who are selected will receive INR 350 as a maintenance allowance every month.
- OBC students pursuing medical, engineering, BSc in agriculture, MPhil, PhD and LLM courses will receive INR 350 per month.
- Students pursuing B.Pharma, LLB, and BSc in nursing, hotel management and postgraduate courses will receive an Oasis scholarship of INR 335 per month.
- Students studying regular courses up to the graduate level will receive INR 210 per month.
- Class 11th, Class 12th, polytechnic and ITI students will receive INR 160 per month.
Hostellers
- Students who are selected will receive INR 750 as a maintenance allowance every month.
- OBC students pursuing medical, engineering, BSc in agriculture, MPhil, PhD and LLM courses will receive INR 750 per month.
- Students pursuing B.Pharma, LLB, and BSc in nursing, hotel management and postgraduate courses will receive an Oasis scholarship of INR 510 per month.
- Students studying regular studies up to the graduate level will receive INR 400 per month.
- Class 11th, Class 12th, polytechnic and ITI students will receive INR 260 per month.
How to apply for Oasis Scholarships?
Application for Oasis scholarship is made in both online and offline mode. When a student register on official website of Oasis , they will receive login credentials and can choose their beneficiary bank also. Here are the detailed steps to apply for Oasis Scholarship are:
- Visit official Oasis scholarship portal.
- Register and get log in credential
- After log in , click on ‘Apply’ option
- WB Oasis Scholarship form will appear.
- Fill all the necessary details and also provide bank information and click on ‘save and proceed’
- Double check the information and click on ‘Verify and Lock’
- After locking ,click on the button to download the application form and Take the print out
- Attach the supported documents with the scholarship form and submit it to the Block Development Officer (BDO) for block area or PO cum DWO for Municipality Corporation.
Note: Students who wants to renew their scholarship can also visit to the official website of WB Oasis and Click on ‘Renew Scholarship’ button and follow the process for same.
Documents Required for Oasis Scholarship
The students need to submit the following documents with application form to ensure the authenticity of Application form are given below:
- Passport size photographs
- Caste certificate
- Birth certificate
- Mark sheets of the previous qualifying examination
- Copy of their aadhaar card or any other government ID with the Students picture and address proof
- Income certificate issued by the competent authorities
- Copy of bank passbook containing the bank's name, branch, IFSC code, account number and beneficiary's name
- Domicile certificate
- Fee receipts
