Established by Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the Mysore royal family and the Government of India in a partnership in 1909, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is one of the premier institutes in India. With 114 years of history, IISc is to offer advanced and original investigations in all branches. The institute strived to balance the pursuit of basic knowledge and applying its research. The institute opened admission for 2023 for UG and PG courses, B.Tech, BSc, M.Tech, M.Sc and M.Des. Admission will be based on the entrance examination score and personal interview. Candidates can apply online on their official website. IISc Bangalore is the only college apart from IIT that considers candidates for JEE Advanced for B.Tech admission. IISc Bangalore also considers national-level examination scores and institute-based entrance exams for the B.Sc(Research) program.

The campus has an active placement cell, which trains students for industry. The average salary of the students from IISc is 23lPA and the highest stood at INR 60 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Oracle, Toshiba, Godrej & Godrej, HSBC, Intel, Mahindra, Cisco, Dell, HP, KPMG, Walmart, EY, etc
The campus is situated in the centre of the city, which is well connected by all parts of the city. The campus offers modern amenities to the students which include Library, a separate hostel facility for boys and girls, an indoor stadium and outdoor play area, labs, a cafeteria, a gym, medical facilities, an auditorium, a music room, transportation, Pharmacy, book shops, bank, seminar hall, and many more. IISc has one of the best scientific and technical libraries in India, which consists of a library collection of more than 1,97,000 books, 2,15,000 volumes, and 13,000 online books. The hostel also offers accommodation for married students to stay with their families(limited stays). The hostel also consists of a guest room for visiting parents of students.
The university offers scholarships for deserving candidates. Even though the fee structure is too less compared to the other university. Students do not need any financial support. The amount given at each degree level is mentioned in the table below:
