The university accepts GATE/GPAT/ JEST/ UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ ICMR JRF/ DBT JRF scores for MS. For integrated PhD the university conducts a written test followed by a personal interview. The campus is spread across 27.35 acres of land located at Jakkur. The land was gifted by the government of Karnataka to the university. The campus has state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities like a dining hall, health centre, cafeteria, daycare centre, hostels, residential facilities for married candidates, gym, well-equipped labs, Library, Conference Hall, Lecture Hall, Auditorium, Bio-Imaging Facility, TITAN Transmission Electron Microscope, Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility, and many more.
The institute offers a scholarship and fellowship to meritorious candidates. For M.Sc candidates are not eligible for any scholarship and fellowship. For integrated Ph.D. candidates, the candidates are paid a fellowship of Rs.19,000 for the first year, and for the second, third, and fourth years Rs. 31,000 Rs, and 35,000 for the fifth, sixth and seventh year. The MS (Research)/ MS (Engineering) candidates will receive a scholarship amount of Rs. 31,000 per month.
