National Brain Research Centre Gurgaon Admission process 2024

Domestic and overseas students must provide various sets of documentation for their confirmed entry to the National Brain Research Centre, Gurgaon admission procedure.

Candidates seeking admission to the National Brain Research Centre, Gurgaon for any of the bachelor degrees must have at least 55% aggregate marks in their 12th standard examinations. Aside from that, the institute where the candidate is taking 12th grade should be recognised and have relevant certificates at the time of admission.

The institute includes a training and placement division to help students with the National Brain Research Centre placement procedure. The DIC maintains and manages the whole IT infrastructure of the NBRC, as well as the general needs of the researchers on campus.

Scholarships:

A Ph.D. candidate receives Rs. 8,000 per month in combined pay.

M.Sc. candidates receive Rs. 1,000 per month in combined pay.

Postdoctoral Fellowships – Rs. 10,500 per month (consolidated). 

Results:

The RIKEN Brain Science Institute in Japan, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in the United States, the Pavlov Institute in Russia, the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, the Institute National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM) in France, and others collaborate with the NBRC. In 2006, the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) of McGill University in Canada and the NBRC were established as sister institutes.

The NBRC conducts research in various areas of neuroscience, including Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, Developmental Neuroscience, Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience, and Computational Neuroscience and Brain Imaging. The center offers DNA Microarray, DNA Sequencing, Whole-cell Intracellular and Extracellular Physiological Recording, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging services. NBRC leads India in the number of Basic Neuroscience articles from 2006 to 2010.

Aside from research, the center serves as a national level nucleus in a variety of neuroscience domains for comprehensive training and instruction. The center provides postgraduate neuroscience courses. It currently provides a PhD / Integrated PhD (MSc + PhD) programme in neuroscience.

National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Manesar, Gurgaon, founded in 1997, is an autonomous institute and a nodal center financed by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, and accredited with presumed university status. On December 16, 2003, the then-President of India, Dr. APJ Kalam, formally dedicated the Manesar Institute to the nation. The NBRC is India's only institute dedicated to neuroscience research and education.
