The Senior Secondary Exam serves as the foundation for awarding this grant. Based on the state's population in the 18–25 age range, the total number of scholarships has been split among the State Education Boards.
Students with family incomes below INR 6 LPA and above the 80th percentile will receive INR 1000 per month for graduation and INR 2000 per month for postgraduate study. In their fourth and fifth years, professional course students would receive INR 2,000 per month.
