The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) conducts the AP PGCET 2024, a common entrance test for admission to postgraduate degrees at various universities and colleges in the state. The exam is administered online, and each test lasts 90 minutes. The exam consists of 120 objective-type questions worth 120 points. Except for SC/ST students, who have no minimum qualifying marks, the minimum qualifying mark for ranking in APPGCET is 25%.

85% of seats in each course are reserved for local candidates, while 15% are unreserved. This is in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974.
