The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national-level entrance examination for admission to management programs in India. It helps AICTE-affiliated institutions select suitable graduate candidates for admission to their management courses. The test was previously conducted by AICTE until 2018, and NTA has been conducting it since 2019. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-approved institutions, university departments, constituent colleges, and affiliated colleges.
The NTA manages the CMAT-2024, a three-hour computer-based test, to assess candidates' abilities in various segments such as Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship for admission to management courses in the academic session 2024-24. CMAT-2024 participating institutes will accept the CMAT score. The information submitted by candidates during online registration is not verified by NTA, and their candidature is provisional, subject to meeting AICTE qualifying criteria.

The information candidates submit when registering online needs to be verified by NTA, so their candidacy is only provisional pending the satisfaction of AICTEs eligibility requirements. In terms of admissions and counselling, NTA plays no part. I dont have computer access, and Ive never taken a computer-based test.

NTA has acknowledged schools and colleges with access to computers and the Internet. These facilities are designated Test Practice Centers (TPCs) to offer CMAT aspirants free practice tests.
