JOAPS, which stands for Joint Admission for Master of Science (JAM) Post Graduate Programmes in Sciences, is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for admission to Master of Science (M.Sc.) programs in IITs and other participating institutes. It is a Computer Based Test (CBT) with a total of 180 questions carrying 2 marks each, and the duration of the exam is 3 hours. To be eligible for the JOAPS exam, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute, with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. They should have also passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in the relevant discipline.
