About TISSNET (Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test):

TISS (Tata Institute of Social Sciences) announces admission for the 2023-25 batch for its Post-Graduate Degree Courses (M.Sc., M.A., MHA., LAW, MPH,) full-time (regular) offered from Tuljapur, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Guwahati campuses.

Tuljapur, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Guwahati campuses have independent high-quality skilled faculty engaged in research, teaching, outreach and policy activities. The Guwahati, Tuljapur, and Hyderabad campuses are networked with the campus of Mumbai to access the online books, library, classes and journals. All campuses of TISS (Tata Institute of Social Sciences) have a unified campus placement process and placement policy.

Tata Institute of Social Sciences conducts National Entrance Test (TISS-NET) is computer-based (online). It has been already conducted on 25 Feb 2023 in 40 Cities (mentioned below) in different parts of the country.

Eligibility Criteria:

Aspirants are requested to check the eligibility conditions before filling the application form. Aspirants found ineligible will be rejected in the admission process at any stage and no grievances will be entertained by the institute in this regard.

a) Students must have successfully completed Bachelor's or Master's Degree of minimum of three-four years duration or its equivalent (under the 10+2+4 or 10+2+3- or 10+2+2+1-year bridge course pattern of study or some other pattern fulfilling the compulsory requirements of 15 years formal education) from a recognized university by the UGC (University Grants Commission) of India. Few Master’s Degree courses will have specific /additional eligibility requirements. Students are advised to refer to course particular eligibility conditions for more details and make sure that they satisfy such particular eligibility condition.

b) Students who will successfully complete, in all respects, all the requirements including all examinations and internships, if applicable of their final year eligible degree by June 13, 2023, are also eligible to apply.

c) Those students who are eligible to apply, but cannot submit the grade/mark sheet and degree certificate at the time of admission are needed to submit these latest by August 31, 2023, failing which their admission provisional would stand automatically rejected without any further reference to the student. The onus will be on the student to submit the provisional/degree and mark sheet/grade by August 31, 2023.

d) At the time of application students studying in three-year degree courses must have passed in all the subjects for the first-fourth semesters and students studying in 4-year degree courses must have passed in all the subjects for the first-sixth semester.

e) Until a student submits their degree certificate and final grade /mark sheet as evidence, the admission offered will remain provisional.

f) Eligibility, depends on the basis of information given in the application, will be used for the final selection process. Institute shall also reserve the right to take any legal action for incorrect or misleading information against the candidate.

Reservation Criteria:

Reservation Policy for Tuljapur, Mumbai and Hyderabad Campuses are as per Government of India requirements for admission to the academic year 2023-24: -

All rules regarding reservations of seats under different priorities and categories will be applicable only at the time of final seat allocation via wait list/merit list.

(a) SC (Scheduled Castes): 15% of the total seats.

(b) ST (Schedule Tribes): 7.5% of the total seats.

(c) (Non-Creamy Layers) OBC (Other Backward Classes): -27% of the total seats.

Applicants are required to apply through the E-application process (online) only. Last date for registration for this academic year is over. Candidates can apply next year by following the process given below.

  1. Visit the official website of TISS.
  2. After that click on the "Apply Online" link.
  3. Read the instructions carefully before filling out the online application form.
  4. Fill-up all the necessary details in the application form carefully.
  5. Upload your signature, scanned photograph, thumb impression and all the necessary documents in the application form.
  6. Pay the application fee via online mode.
  7. Submit the application form before the last date of registration.

English Proficiency: The section includes questions regarding verbal reasoning and comprehension odd-one-out, word choice/sentence correction, grammar, synonyms and antonyms.

Maths and Logical Reasoning: The section includes questions such as geometry, arithmetic, trigonometry, number series, statistics, logical reasoning and data interpretation.

The TISSNET 2023 is an entrance exam conducted by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) for admission to postgraduate programmes offered by the university and campuses located in Tuljapur, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Guwahati. The TISSNET Exam 2023 Admit Card was available on the TISS official website on 18 Feb 2023. Students can access their hall ticket by logging in with their login id and password.
